Closest parking is the Town Point Garage on Main street, directly across from the Nauticus museum.

All over sized vehicles need to park at Harbor Park (the local baseball stadium), located at 150 Park Avenue, Norfolk Va, 23510. It is approximately a 10-15 minute walk from Harbor Park to our location.

There are a few handicap spaces in front of the Nauticus Museum that are available on a first come-first served basis. If those spaces are full the closest parking is the Town Point garage on Main street directly across from Nauticus.

We have a ship store with snacks, e.g., chips, soft pretzels, hot dogs, beers, wines, sodas, and mixed drinks all available for purchase. Please keep in mind this is not a lunch or dinner cruise and there are no meals served on board.

You are welcome to bring your own snacks and water on board. You cannot bring any alcohol. Any coolers that you bring must be small and soft sided, any large or hard sided coolers will not be allowed on board. Please keep in mind that there are no tables on the vessel, so whatever you bring with you will need to be held on your person.

We are accessible for standard sized non electric wheelchairs. We cannot accommodate electric wheelchairs or mobility scooters on board. If you have an electric wheelchair or a scooter you can take it down to our dock where we can lock it up for you. You can then transfer to our manual wheelchair for boarding.

No. This is a Non Smoking Vessel, smoking and vaping are prohibited both indoors and on the outer and upper deck.

We allow well behaved small dogs (under 30 pounds) on board. They must be on a leash at all times and on the upper deck at all times. They are not allowed in the main cabin due to health department regulations. The captain/crew have the right to deny entry to anyone whose dog is over the size limit or who is not well behaved/controlled.

We typically cruise rain or shine. Due to our geographical location the weather can change quickly, especially in the summer months. We monitor the forecast constantly and make decisions about cancellations as the forecast changes. In the event of severe weather with winds that are too high or if there are visibility issues and we cancel the cruise, we will contact everyone with reservations and either reschedule you or issue a refund.

Refunds are processed on our end immediately. It may take up to 10 business days to see the refund on your statement.

We strongly encourage that you purchase your tickets in advance. If there is space available we can sell tickets to walk ups, but we do often sell out cruises, so walking up for tickets is not recommended.

The combination ticket includes general admission to the Nauticus museum, the Battleship Wisconsin, and the 2 hour narrated naval base cruise aboard the Victory Rover. All activities must be completed on the same day, please allow 2-3 hours to complete the Nauticus museum and the Battleship Wisconsin. Museum hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday 12pm-4pm.

We are the very first ticket window at the Nauticus museum in downtown Norfolk. Walk up the ramp to go to Nauticus and simply walk left around the deck to the first ticket window.

If you have purchased a combo ticket you must come to the ticket window PRIOR to your cruise. If you have purchased tickets online or over the phone for only the cruise then you do not need to come to the ticket window and instead can go directly to the Victory Rover once boarding has started.

We recommend arriving 30 minutes prior to departure time to give yourself pleanty of time to park and walk to the vessel. The Victory Rover leaves promply at its scheduled times and cannot be held. If you purchased the combo ticket and are cruising with us in the afternoon or evening, then it is recommended that you arrive at the Nauticus museum no later than 12pm to ensure it can be completed prior to your cruise. The musuem and battleship will be closed when returning from your afternoon or evening cruise.

The lower deck is enclosed and climate controlled. That seating is first come first served, so we cannot guarantee inside seats. The upper deck is open but does have a canopy, so you won’t be sitting directly in the sun or getting wet if it’s raining.

We cruise on the calm waters of the Elizabeth River, we do not get out into the ocean or the bay where the waters are rough. It is extremely rare for someone to get sick on board.

Naval Station Norfolk is the worlds largest naval base and generally speaking, you will see a little bit of everything on our cruise, e.g., carriers, cruisers, destroyers, amphibious assault ships, submarines, tug boats, and even some private yachts. The ships do come and go on a daily basis, and because of this, every cruise is a little bit different. We cannot guarantee that any specific ship or type of ship will be in on a specific day.

There are old brochures with outdated prices and times on them, they also say “rates and schedule subject to change”. The information on our website will always be the most current and correct information.

No, we cannot hold the boat for passengers who are running late.

If you’ve missed your scheduled cruise and we were not sold out you can be reschedule for another available day or time by calling our office at 757-627-7406.

Yes, we possess all the required safety equipment and are inspected annually for safety by the Coast Guard.

Yes! You are absolutely welcome to take photos on our cruise, however large telephoto lenses are not permitted.

No. You do not get off of our boat at any point during the cruise.

All of our cruises are casual attire. It can be cooler on the water, especially in the early and late months of our cruising season, you may want to bring a jacket if you choose to cruise with us during those cooler months.

Unfortunately no transcripts are available for the cruises. Every cruise is a live narration from our ships captain. Norfolk is a very busy port and Naval Station Norfolk is the worlds largest naval base, because of this large amount of activity every cruise is different.

No, this is a sightseeing cruise of the naval base, no fishing is permitted. We do not do fishing charters.

There is a chance that you may see dolphins and other wildlife on our cruise, however this is NOT a dolphin watching cruise. If you’re looking specifically for a nature/wildlife cruise we recommend taking the Atlantic Explorer or the Atlantic Scout located at the Virginia Aquarium. Yes. All passengers on our tours need a ticket prior to boarding. Although children 2 years old and under are not charged, they must be included in your reservation as they are counted as passengers under U.S. Coast Guard regulations.

No, unfortunately, we do not have storage space on board.

No. Nauticus/Battleship Wisconsin wristbands cannot be reissued. It is important that you do not take your wristband off until you are certain you are finished with the museum and battleship. If you lose/damage/prematurely take off your wristband and wish to re-enter either the museum or the battleship you must purchase another ticket at full price.

As soon as you know when you’d like to go we would recommend purchasing your tickets. Our cruises often sell out and if you wait until the last minute to purchase your tickets there is a good chance we won’t be able to accommodate you.

All of our regularly scheduled naval base cruises are 2 hours.

Once you purchase a ticket you will receive a confirmation email with a link to your boarding pass. You do not need to print out a physical ticket, you can show us your ticket from your smartphone or tablet.

For the safety of all guests, weapons (concealed or otherwise) are not permitted on Rover Cruises’ property, including our office, ticket booth, and boats.
